Chen, Tao Su, Brad Brim SiSoft - Walter Katz Teraspeed Consulting Group - Bob Ross* ======================================================================== No patents were announced. The team reviewed the latest draft, plus checked Rob Elliott's list of changes. Specific suggestions follow: p.4: put line feed before a) and change indent before "each" to make Rule 2 clear Bob: what about "can" language? Team will consult IEEE and GEIA documents to confirm requirements p. 5: curly brace in front of Number of Noise Frequencies p.6, 8: decibel is not defined on page 6, but it referred to on page 7 (in other words, spell it out before full usage) Bob: x vs. *, is this a document standard? Radek: we don't need to show it all the time. p. 7: Radek: Change "Mixed-mode network parameters are described in the file..." to "If the [Mixed-Mode Order] keyword is present," etc. p.9: Bob: "N12, etc." should be "N12, etc.,' with comma afterward; also, change keyword [Number of Frequencies] to [Number of Frequencies] keyword; insertion of keyword isn't consistent. p. 9 - remove [Reference] from Example 2 p. 10 - remove [Reference] from Example 3 p. 10 - [Reference] argument impedances vs. [Reference] impedances p. 11 - move examples 5 and 6 *after* [Network Data] ; 5, 6 and 7 should be together p. 12 - Radek: "line termination character" should be "line termination character or sequence" p. 13 - John, Radek: remove x from 2xn^2+1, as it's more natural p. 15 - x or multiplication symbol not consistent; 3x3, 4x4 not the same p. 15 - add comma after "i.e." p. 16 - inconsistent use of "three-port"; "3-port" should be used p. 18 - "As shown," implies rule where none exists. Make sure this is not a requirement. p. 19 - Radek: "S parameters" without dash should be used; "S-parameter data" (as adjective) with dash; p. 20 - vector equations and text should not be italicized p. 20 - "kth" should NOT be superscripted p. 25 - put final example with [End] here, copy of the immediately before p. 28 - get rid of x; make fonts consistent on that line p. 28 - "Y-parameters" versus "Y Parameters" should be consistent p. 28 - Title here is a subsection, not the full Appendix title; invent a new title p. 30 - remove "shall be" from "Finally, the single ended vector..."; add dash p. 34 - add page numbers to references; correct with italics, no "on", copy standard citation The team reviewed the final comments from Rob Elliott, with the following dispositions: - p. 5: no example for Comments - team elected to ignore this - use "network data" instead of "data" globally - "network data line" should be used - "data lines" should be "network parameter data pairs" globally - Bob suggested taking care about Version 1.0 rules} - "entry"/"entries" vs. "network data lines", "data", etc. should be used globally - Touchstone should also mandate that only one line termination sequence be used throughout the entire file - team elected to ignore this - use explicit multiplication symbol vs. x for "4 x 4", "n x n" - Radek suggested that we take a look at equations on page 20 and possibly use dot notation; Bob suggested that we follow common math conventions - standardize use of ^ for power/exponential - the team rejected this in favor of using superscripts - add examples showing [Reference] across multiple lines - Michael suggested we could do this with existing examples with small change; Bob added that we put in comment line regarding ports, then put in references; the new document will modify one existing example ARs - Team: Vladimir stated that the document should include two complete separate examples, with as many functions as possible. - Michael to obtain GEIA and/or IEEE rules for may, shall, will, must in standards - DONE - Michael to list out Rob's suggested changes as a bullet list, so that global principles can be settled before deciding. - DONE
